Three best places to rent a bike in Chicago were all selected on the basis of their location, variety of rental bikes available, the high quality of customer service that they provided and the daily cost of renting a bike. Popular biking areas in Chicago are round the Lake Michigan’s 18-mile bike pathways and the other 150 miles of designated bike lanes intersecting around the city.

Our first choice is Bobby’s Bike Hike with their two convenient locations at the Ogden Slip at the River East docks and Lincoln Park near the harbor. Employees are first rate correctly insuring that every bike rental exactly fist the rider, offering very helpful tips and recommendations about Chicago. Dual rider bikes, mountain bikes, bike trailers, children bikes and bike trailers are available. Helmets and maps are included free with every rental from Bobby’s Bike Hike. Child bike seats are also available for rent. Bike rentals start out at 32 for a full day.

Bike and Roll Chicago is unique in that you can reserve bike rentals online and offers Segways for rental as well. Nine convenient locations are dotted along Lake Shore drive and at museums. Bike tours, pedi-cabs, and Segway tours are available. The Trek bike name brand is specifically offered for rental here. Customers may also purchase a bike here as well. Bike rentals start out at 39 and for the entire day.

B-cycle is a little different than the previous two bike rentals mentioned above. All stations are fully automated lacking customer service representatives and use a credit card to rent a bike. You rent a bike for 24 hours at any one of the B-cycle rental stations called B-stations around Chicago and simply return it to any B-station when finished with the bike.

When you first decide that you want to go bike riding, what is the first thing you have to get? Well that’s a bike of course, you need one to go riding, but, secondly you must think about safety. Investing in a good helmet can save your life. How many of us have looked at bike riders and simply laughed at the way the rider looked wearing that silly helmet? I know I have. But the truth of the matter is, how much is your life worth? Will 25-50 be a good investment? When it comes to staying alive I say bring on the silly helmets.Didn-t catch that? This explains it. Automobile drivers have increasingly gotten worse at noticing bike riders, and an increase of accidents are on the rise. Safety must be taken seriously with all the household members who ride. It is important to start children off with safety in their minds when they begin to bike ride, this way when they grow up they will know the importance of investing in a durable helmet that could save their lives one day. We as adults must take the safety precautions seriously and be good role models for the youth. With the safety and durability of a good helmet, it will keep us all riding a little bit longer. So before you jump on that bike, make sure you you have your safety in mind, and when others point and laugh because you have a silly helmet on, well, I say laugh back and know in your head who the smart one is.

There is often a controversy about whether it is better to cycle in the city or the country. Both places can be completely safe if the driver is aware of the surroundings and takes the customary precautions. Big cities actually have the highest number of cyclists because people find it easy to get around without having to use public transportation or private cars. Of course it is always possible to put the bike on the bus or train so that broadens the places someone can go on a bike.

The country can be peaceful and scenic, but the distance between places to stop can be long and often there are hills and uneven terrain to considerer. It is really not possible to say which place is safer to ride in because both of them are great ways for people to travel by bike, but like everything else, it takes some precautions to stay safe. Bicyclist should understand all the rules of the road and dress appropriately. A helmet is always needed for people of all ages. Make sure the bike is in good working order and of course check out those brakes. Biking is not only great exercise, it is another way for everyday people to minimize their carbon footprint. So grab a bike and start using it today. It is the best way to travel.Want to know more?

One of the best ways to see Chicago is on a bike. Anyone who doesn-t have a good bike should consider the reasonable rental fee. The prices are very competitive and it is possible to take a tour with other riders or set out on your own. The best way to do it though, is to make sure you get off the beaten path. You will be able to see the quaint older neighborhoods and crowded beaches. Parks dot the area, so there are plenty of places to stop and have a picnic.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . Most bike shops will have maps with great routes that will point out popular things to see and do while on the bike.

Five places you don-t want to miss are in easy riding distance and should be underlined on your map.

1. Gold Coast Mansion
2. Playboy mansion
3. Lincoln Park zoo
4. Chicago lakefront
5. Historical district

So pack up the family or take a friend and plan a bike tour in this beautiful city. Check the weather though, as you might have heard, it can get a little windy. Plan for a least a day to see everything on your list and who knows, you might even want to come back and try it again the next day.
