March 14th, 2012 by admin

Don’t just sit there all summer watching directv Chicago get outside and bike your city! Biking is a great way to get some exercise and really get outside while the weather’s nice. Here are a few safety tips for biking in Chicago and any city!
Wear a Helmet: we know, we know, this one’s obvious but you’d be shocked how many bikers are out and about without protective headgear! Get fitted by a professional and buy the best helmet you can afford and ALWAYS wear it. You never know when it could save your life.
Think Reflective: Particularly if you’re biking at dusk, wear reflective vests or labels. Dusk is actually more dangerous than after dark because many bikers believe they’re more visible than they actually are to drivers.
Mind the Rules: Just because you’re on a bike doesn’t mean you get to run through stop signs or stoplights and weave through stopped traffic. If you want the same rights as a car treat yourself like one – cars will respect you in turn and you’ll have a fuller biking experience.
